ACE/Security Laminates™ manufactures a micro-thin transparent
window laminate which turns regular glass windows
into barriers that can resist the force of small firearms,
bombs, high impact projectiles, and hurricanes. Founded in
1991, ACE is represented in more than 40 countries worldwide
and continues to expand globally. Our safety and security
laminate products are used worldwide to protect business,
government, residential, and automotive glass structures
from threats of break and enters, vandalism and acts of
terrorism. ACE security laminates are now available through
the Government Services Administration (GSA) Federal

The Ace Security Solution
ACE/Security Laminates™ is committed to protecting people
and wants to ensure that both the public at large and the
people on the inside of buildings are protected against the
threats of broken and flying glass. That's why ACE has
designed a security solution to help the construction and
building manager reduce that threat. Security laminates can
be applied to both new and retrofit applications. When
retrofitting existing glass, security laminates are the single
most cost-effective approach for preventing the consequences
from forced entry attacks, bullets and explosive
blasts.
Testing
Bullet and bomb blast damage from potential terrorist
threats has created a need for new standards to mitigate
flying glass hazards from blast loads. ACE has
conducted extensive third-party testing to demonstrate
the performance of their safety and security films
against bomb blast loads. ACE laminates meet or
exceed the following test standards:
- BMAG (Blast Mitigation Action Group) Level 1
- GSA (Government Services Administration) Level 2
- GSA (Government Services Administration) Level 1
- MREL (Mining Resource Engineering Limited) Open Air Blast Test 50 lb. bomb
- UL (Underwriters Laboratory) -752-1995 Bullet Resistance
- ULC (Underwriters Laboratory Canada) -S332-93 Burglary Resistance 3 mm and 6mm
- CPSC (Consumer Product Safety Commission) Burglary Resistance 3 mm and 6 mm categories I and II
- ASTM (American Society for Testing Materials) E84 Surface Burning and Flame Spread
- ANSI (American National Standards Institute) Z97.1
